My Philosophy
At Lambchops Family Daycare, I believe in child-led play-based learning. We do "academics", however, it's not my hyper focus or in the traditional sense...we do this while we "play", while we eat or during any other activity. I believe in setting children up for success, disciplining with gentle guidance and seeing the positive in all children. We learn about different emotions at a young age and build awareness & understanding that emotions are real and it's ok to have and feel them. I encourage bravery and that mistakes are okay to make, after all, that's how we all learn, adults included. Every child is born with uniqueness, their own personality, character and I want to protect it from being squashed; instead I front load the children with tools, skills and tactics they can use to navigate through prickly situations, but more importantly in any social setting. I foster imagination, improvisation, creativity, community, belonging, friendship, confidence, thoughtfulness, coordination, dexterity, fine/gross motor skills and independence. I encourage children to be themselves and treat each child with love and respect as if they were my own.
